MEHKOs Program Implementation Consideration - Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Presentation
Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKOs) is a model authorized under California law (AB 626 and AB 377) that allows individuals to prepare and sell meals directly from their homes. The County has gathered feedback from individuals and organizations over the last several months to weigh its participation in the program. I’ve attached a few documents that were sent out previously for reference.
On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the Environmental Management Department (EMD) will present this matter to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and seek the Board’s direction regarding the potential authorization to implement a MEHKO Program in Sacramento County. It’s important that the County hear directly from residents, community-based organizations, and businesses before making any decisions.
Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2026, 9:30am-5:00pm – This item will likely be heard during the morning session.
- The in-person meeting will be held in the Board Chambers located at: 700 H Street, Room 1450 Sacramento, CA 95814 (driving and parking directions)
- To watch online, access the agenda and materials: Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Meetings
